FLOODS: In most parts of our country, it rains heavily during the monsoon months. Often there is so much water in the rivers that many of them rise above their banks and flow into the nearby land. Such a condition is known as floods. The flow of water can be very strong, damaging crops, roads and houses. The major calamities due to flood are as follows :
Epidemic- A disease affecting thousands of people at the same time is called an epidemic. Flooding can cause shortage of clean water . It can result can result in the spread of large number water borne diseases in living beings.

Pandemic : A pandemic is basically a global epidemic or we can say that an epidemic that can spread to more than one continent.
